A glorious few days sharing space, time & energy with many like minded souls at Wanderlust this past weekend has left me feeling inspired, joyous, peaceful and satiated, all at once.
Reflecting on my magical weekend, I have kept coming back to just how important it is to make time to not only do the activities we love, but to spend at least part of the time, sharing those activities with others.
I consider myself to be fairly self sufficient, in that when I’m not spending time with my husband; friends; or with clients, I really enjoy spending time on my own, or with my fur family. Truth be known, I actually crave that ‘alone’ time because for me it’s a form of replenishment. My ‘me-time’ includes my personal yoga practise, meditation, Reiki self treatments, gazing at the clouds, watching the birds bathing and drinking from the bird bath, plus a myriad of other things that just make me smile and give me joy.
However, this past weekend has reminded me of just how vital it is to share energy and space with other human beings who love the same things, or share the same interests. It’s amazing how easily we connect with one another during these shared experiences.
We’re all different in what we choose as our recreational activities. Some may enjoy completing a physical challenge, others a lunch date or coffee catch up, yet others perhaps go to a concert or the theatre. For me it’s yoga (funnily enough), listening to inspiring people speak, or share their music, enjoying healthy fresh, lovingly created food, and just being amongst a happy, relaxed and harmonious group of people. So when I have the opportunity to combine each of those things, as I have done this weekend, I come away feeling completely blessed, very peaceful, inspired and just plain old full of joy! As the saying goes, ‘My cuppeth, runneth over!’
I didn’t know most of my Wanderlust weekend tribe, but together we rolled out our yoga mats, relaxed with beautiful music, and were uplifted with inspiring stories. So when we caught each other’s eyes, we smiled with love, felt compassion and connected because we recognised ourselves in each other. We saw our own light reflected back at us through their eyes and that’s pretty magical.
I adore and value all of my tribes (yes I do have more than one), but this weekend I got to spend time with my soul tribe and for that I am filled with love and gratitude. I feel ‘topped up’ with creative energy and expanded with peaceful loving vibes.
So from my heart to yours, I really encourage you to seek out your tribe. Find those beings who share the same love of those things that truly fill your heart and nourish your soul ... and when you find them, take some time to just allow yourself to soak in the amazing energy you create together.
